How To Install

HOW TO INSTALL THE CHIPWERKE PIGGYBACK TUNER

The ChipWerke piggyback tuning module connects to several engine sensors on your vehicle, tapping into the factory wiring harness with OEM-quality plugs. No wire splicing, cutting, drilling, or permanent modifications are required. The instruction guide included in your package shows the exact connection points and mounting steps for your specific vehicle.

While the exact sensor locations vary by application, the basics below apply across every install. Select your vehicle below to see the installation instructions.

* The vehicle shown in the guide may look different from yours, but it uses the same engine.

BEFORE YOU START

  • Turn off the engine and let it cool down.
  • Leave the driver's door open for 15 minutes while keeping the key fob at least 35 feet away from the car. This ensures the ECU fully powers down before you disconnect anything.
  • Have your vehicle-specific install guide (included in the package) on hand, since connection points differ from engine to engine.

INSTALLATION STEPS

1 - Engine Off & ECU Reset

Turn off the engine and wait for it to cool down. Leave the driver’s door open for 15 minutes while keeping the keyfob at least 35 feet away from the car to ensure the ECU shuts down completely.

2 - Mounting Location

Locate where you want to mount the module. Make sure that it is away from the areas that tend to heat up relatively more.

3 - Harness Protection

Make sure the ChipWerke harness is not overly stretched and is protected against water.

4 - Secure Connections

Make sure that plugs are securely connected in place and that there are no unused plugs left.

Important Note:
You must follow these instructions properly to avoid receiving a check engine light or other issues. Also, ensure you hear a 'click' sound when connecting the plugs, as this signifies a secure connection.

AFTER INSTALLATION

Once everything is connected and secured, start the vehicle as normal. No reflashing, relearning, or additional setup is needed for the module to work.
